Whew! I am so glad that December is over and a new year has begun. Overall I had a wonderful year, but the last month with all the holidays and birthdays (3 of my 4 kids!) and rushing around from event to event always takes a toll. I try to keep it simple, but… So one of the best parts of 2017 was finding neurological reorganization (NR) and staying consistent with our program since we began. It has not been easy, but it has saved our family in more ways than one. We have our first check-up this week to evaluate how much progress we’ve made and what we may need to tweak. Can’t wait!
With NR being such a high priority and taking up so much time and mental space, I didn’t get much else “accomplished” for the last part of the year, but I had prepared for that. My goal was just to stay consistent with NR and absolute necessities and let all the other chips fall where they may. So going into 2018, I feel healthy and I feel good about the past year, but I’m definitely ready for improvements. We have some exciting new opportunities on the horizon–like, career/lifelong dream-type stuff–that I hope will prove both fun and very fruitful. We also have to buckle down in some areas, like finances.
That said, my personal word for 2018 is DISCIPLINE. I played a game called Vertellis last week, and got a question about what my biggest mistake was for 2017. Although I couldn’t point to any one particular mistake, I did feel that I’ve had an overall lack of discipline this past year (or maybe two…or three?). I’ve had several goals on hold for awhile now. I am a wife and mother, and I find it difficult to put my needs before those of others–which is not a bad thing, it just means I have to be creative and extremely focused on the things I truly, deeply desire for total fulfillment. I don’t have to have a strict deadline, but I do have to keep moving forward and making progress toward my best, most complete self. I call all of this a love adventure.
So, how about you? What’s your word or main focus for the year ahead? How are you feeling at the start of 2018? I’d love to hear from you!
