89: Pondering Love

If God is Love or Love is God

and love is a verb and means to give and serve

(I reject the notion that love is merely an idea),

then it makes sense that God is everywhere–

in you and me when we are helping another,

in dogs and (at times) cats,

in birds and snakes,

in spiders eating bugs,

in every plant in the garden and forest,

the trees giving us oxygen to breathe,

the sun and the moon and the lovely light,

every particle in the air that carries it to our senses,

always active, always working for our collective good,

keeping the balance,

adopting adaptations.

If all this

is true–and the evidence backs it up–

then how can we not surrender?

That is, continue to serve the living to the best of our ability,

and, in the process, surrender?
